Brigitte Lacombe Foulquier,
Self-taught painter, Brigitte Lacombe Foulquier started developing skills since her earliest childhood through many sketches, drawings and later watercolours.
Born in 1964 in Charente (Western France), she grew up close to beaches and Atlantic islands. She achieved to catch the light and softness of oceans to faithfully transpose it into her paintings.
Brigitte set up in Brittany (Bretagne) some years ago and has been mixing improvisation with discovery in her quest to deepen the variety of her creations.
Her technique is based on combining wood with oiled paints.
The oak-tree board is cut and put in Brigitte’s workshop, where it is sanded and coated with an under-paint which will allow colours to delicately attach the wood. A slight varnishing will end up the whole work, warrantying perfected radiance of the tints.
The concern for image, light and softness are the first qualities
very own to each one of her works.
To everyone who will identify himself…
